1. National Strike in Peru

Perú was paralized for 24 hours by a national strike. The strike was called by the General Confederation of Workers of Peru, other union guilds, indigenous social organizations, campesinos and political forces; in reaction to a series of legislative initiatives  by the government to strengthen its economic program, which are seen as being against the interests of the majority.  The strike ended with a successful report but not without repression and with the announcement of the creation of a People's Assembly in November, a social movement of the organizations and political movements from the Peruvian opposition.
