New threats for an Amazon Strike

Ecuadorian Indigenous Regional Assembly demands an immediate cancellation of Occidental’s contract. One of the resolutions reached at a Regional Assembly, held on the 6^th and 7^th of April in Nueva Loja (Sucumbíos) was to give an ultimatum to the Minister of Energy and Mines, Ivan Rodriguez. If he doesn’t announce by the 20^th of April the cancellation of the Contract with Occidental Petroleum, the provinces of Napo, Pastaza, Zamora, Morona, Orellana and Sucumbios will be immediately and indefinitely paralyzed.

Amenazas de un nuevo paro amazónico

Cumbre regional plantea la caducidad inmediata del contrato con la Oxy. Una de las resoluciones tomadas por la Cumbre Amazónica, realizada durante los días 6 y 7 del presente mes y año, en Nueva Loja(Sucumbíos), es plantear un ultimátum al Ministro de Energía y Minas, Iván Rodríguez, que si hasta el 20 del presente no se pronuncia sobre la caducidad del contrato de la Oxi, se paralizan indefinida e inmediatamente las provincias de Napo, Pastaza, Zamora, Morona, Orellana y Sucumbíos.
